Yay,

My daughter started on Stepping Stones, which was quite a good logical start. I'm sure some of the violin teachers can recommend something a little more mature.

Yes, this series is a good one, and will get you going as well as anything else. But if you do want something a little more mature, you might try All for Strings. It's the tutor I tend to use with most of my adult beginners.

Good luck! smile.gif

Absolutely nothing wrong with Stepping Stones at any age, this is the book I started on at the 'young age' of 38 biggrin.gif
LOVED IT!

PS

I recommend finding a teacher who is serious on technique, although I have learnt a bit in two and a half years with 'the wrong teacher', I could have been 'much better quality' by now if I had the right teaching from the start!
Good technique at the beginning will ensure good intonation and ability to play well later!

thank you for the advice jojo its so different ( from the flute) starting again is a real adventure i really love it and want to get on as much as i did with the flute . its a shame i havent felt this way with the sax and i cant really say why i will carry on with sax as i now play it a bit with the band i am part of.

i will invest in a few books when pay day arrives violin.gif violin.gif
