Hello All smile.gif

I used to get my cello strings from someone down the road, who could order whichever ones you wanted, but I'm at uni now and I went to a couple of shops and they both said they didn't order strings in. Could anyone recommend somewhere reliable to get them off the internet? It's just last time I did that, the company turned out not to exist and I never got them!

Thanks!
Flossie
I buy violin strings from either http://www.thestringzone.co.uk/ or http://www.stringmail.co.uk/ depending which is cheaper at the time (don't forget postage!).

I'm pretty sure they both do cello strings as well. smile.gif

I second that and yes, they do cello and double bass strings (which I will buy soon I think, but at ?150 for the set I keep making excuses to delay the buy tongue.gif )

I use stringmail. If you phone them the guy is very helpful and knowledgeable.

I use thestringzone as they have always delivered the correct items promptly.

I do not use stringmail as only time I ordered from them they sent the wrong strings. I had to phone them several times to get them to send me the correct strings and when they finally appeared I had to collect them from the post office and pay for the postage as they had not paid for it. I also had to return the incorrect strings at my own expense. So for me it ended up being an expensive place to buy strings.

Usually much cheaper to buy from the USA (eg quinnviolins or gostrings.com).
