My lovely wife (plays classical piano, who instinctively change the CD player from jazz to classical music) was commenting today "Wonder why you put our daughter to jazz lessons. Not sure if she is really interested". My daughter (who is normally extremely shy and would not volunteer information uninvited) protested loudly "I do enjoy jazz. In fact I enjoy playing jazz much more than classical!"

Not to say anything negative about classical music in general but I felt glad and a bit justified, that I am not trying to achieve my own interest through her. It was a genuine interest.
