Hi,
is it ok to beam 8 semiquavers together for each beat in 2/2 time?
The AB Guide (pink book) on Pg.33 states notes shorter than quavers are beamed together in beats and First Steps on Pg.32 Section 3 at 2(b) confirms it would be ok to beam 8 semiquavers in 2/2 time for each minim beat.
However, in the MTP G2 workbook, in the notes on Pg. 18 at point (3), it says except in 3/8 don't beam together more than 4 semiquavers.
I know the main thing is to beam in beats and the rule about not beaming across beats 2&3 in 4/4 time but I'm confused about this.
Any help would be appreciated.

This was answered by someone else in another thread, but it is indeed OK to beam 8 in 2/2...

So I did!............I'm obviously thinking about this fiddly subject too much! I'm trying to put together some notes on the topic but I think I'm ready to be beamed up myself!

It's OK to ask the same question twice, as long as you get the same answer!
