Just had a letter in the post from Halifax, inviting me to apply for one of their credit cards. Grrrrr.

So, I wrote across the form "No thank you" and put it in the reply paid envelope, together with all the marketing leaflets which came with it. It will go back to Halifax and they will hopefully take me off their mailing list.

I have been naughty in the past and put more items in such envelopes, which would mean the recipients having to pay extra postage for the weight !

yep! done this in various ways.

We joined the mailing preference list a while back however - days are much less interesting now ...
