Can anyone explain to me, in very small words, exactly how to set up a broadband connection? I'm supposed to be moving into my house on Sunday (early, so I can work on my essays - looks like that won't happen now

) and I thought someone else was setting up the internet stuff. It seems not. I mean I've organised absolutely everything else so, I guess I can do this too.
I have absolutely nothing set up, as it is... And I'm basically technologically illiterate... Any chance anyone can help? How long on average should it take?
Any help would be appreciated...

Actually it shouldn't be too hard. The first question though is do you have a broadband connection in the house?
Assuming that exists then a certain amount depends on your Internet Service Provider and the type of equipment you are installing. If it is a modem (a little box 'twixt computer and wall socket) it ought to be a fairly simple plug and play issue. If you are using a router (bigger box, several outlets for several computers and possibly wireless too) that needs configuring in accordance with your ISPs requirements.
You ought to be able to get set up details from your ISPs web site (if you can get to it of course) and possibly they provided you with a set up disc.
