I had a really sad excuse for a chicken caesar salad today. I think the chicken was reconstituted - sort of uniform strips of dubious texture, and the salad was some sort of lettuce, cucumber, red pepper and grated carrot. The dressing tasted of - absolutely nothing, though I could see that there was some there. Hurumph.
A caesar salad should really only have cos lettuce hearts, croutons, anchovies, parmesan shavings and dressing. It shouldn't have cucumber, pepper or carrots
I think it's fairly new to swap the anchovies for chicken but I've always had chicken breast thinly sliced and laid on top. And I like
garlic croutons
I'm not sure what the dressing is but I think there's worcester sauce and olive oil in it?
