QUOTE(confutatis @ Oct 7 2009, 03:25 PM)

Why does my web browser keep prompting me that Barry's website wants access to my clipboard?
I am sorry about this.
Unfortunately, it does this, though there is no virus and the experts say the site is totally safe.
I am trying to ge the problem fixed.

Thanks Barry.
I have just had a look at the sample from "The Organists' Dictionary of Real Meanings", and will definitely be putting that one on my Christmas list.
We would have liked to come down on 31st October, but it is a long way from here, and we shall be at Mr Sangers playing day!

Hi Folks
Our Webmaster has been investigating the problems some people have had visiting our site to read our Frequently Asked Questions (and Answers) for Organists. He has requested that I post the note below. Put shortly, it means there is in fact no virus on the site, depite the warning message that sometimes appears (if you use AVG.)

"In response to customer concerns regarding the apparent warnings of clipboard access when visiting www.organistpublications.co.uk, this has been investigated and confirmed to be a known issue affecting users of Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and 8 only. In attempting to address earlier security vulnerabilities, these two browsers now default to prompting the user with a choice, where other browsers simply disable this access automatically. While this can appear alarming, it is not in the case of Organist Publications as visitors can proceed to click 'Disallow' and continue to use the site normally and without any degradation in experience or increase in vulnerability. A fuller explanation of browser configuration is now available from the homepage of the website and this may be of use in the case of other instances.
We have also noted several reports from users of AVG Antivirus products which do not match the results of several other leading antivirus products. This may be the difference between the AVG free and paid services, but we would take this opportunity to recommend that all antivirus products are only as good as their current definitions library and for this reason they should be regularly and frequently updated. In addition to existent protection, a virus scanning facility has now been added allowing concerned visitors to carry out an independent impromtu scan of the entire site if they wish."
