Is there such a thing as a lightweight violin and viola case? If I am going to get my backside in gear to teach I will need to carry a bunch of instruments about. Now it's slightly complicated by the fact I can't walk, so weight, bulk, etc. is all very important. It would be nice if I could get a single case for both instruments, but they suddenly become extremely heavy, and no, not just as heavy as both a violin and a viola case separately but about 4-5 times as heavy as a single! Is there such a thing as a light one? Or a short case for carrying just the [single] instrument if you have your bows all in one case? Or any other suggestions I haven't thought of!

I got a new lightweight violin case made by Bam when I realised that my backache was triggered by the old heavy case.

I am not sure you will find a light case to carry both instruments...why not alternate which one you take and demonstrate versitility in lessons as well as promoting the fabulous viola to the violinists?
