I could hardly hear how badly out of tune John and Edward were on Saturday. All I could hear was my brother screaming with laughter. Me and him were almost flaling off our chairs laughing at the costumes of the dancers behind them! 'The Stig' came to mind.

John and Edward are memorable...and in my opinion, they are entertaining. There is a certain uniqueness about them, and I bet there's a lot of people (myself included) looking at websites seeing what song they're going to try next...

Gut feeling : even if they don't win (and don't rule them out), you will hear more of John and Edward...

I certainly don't want to sound catty here, but I find it actually alarming when we find things like that entertaining in a positive sense (everyone is entitled their own opinion of course ) .

They are unique of course, but every of the contestants is. The nimbus that surrounds John & Edward is certainly more the one of betting on the black horse or, even worse, wanting to see them fail/do badly to be entertained. I can live with the former, although it is a slap in the face of every musician out there (not talking about X-Factor contestants here) who spends years on honing their skills and then sees that people with no talent whatsoever get a chance they will never get. They wouldn't be the first however

As for "we will hear of them" - wasn't that what they said about that weird brother and sister duo as well? They are back to Butlins or the like, well done for building them up and then letting them fall ...

It must be disheartening for the likes of Rikki and Miss Frank, who have genuine talent and get voted out because the public seem to have an illogical preference for a duo who are, for lack of a better term, talentless. No wonder Rachel got desperate and acted like a silly girl on Saturday night!

I don't watch these programmes but I remember a brother and sister duo a while ago (maybe last year?) when I was around my sister's and she had the TV on... they were a really lovely pair - what happened to them?

their cd flopped completely, but unlike john & edward, they could at least hold a tune. as far as i know, their singing career didn't take off, and they still do cabaret-like stuff. and a kids' program on disney-channel - that's where they all seem to end

i heard on the radio this morning that john & edward got the most votes at the weekend. well, joe public, you'll get the 'artists' you deserve then.

i just feel sorry for the boys, because at the moment, people feel 'entertained' and like laughing at them. maybe (!) they'll buy their first single. an album would flop, i am quite sure, and what that means to the likes of simon cowell i needn't say - leon jackson springs to mind.

According to the papers, John and Edward got the highest number of votes on Sunday night I'm tearing my hair out here just THINKING about the possibility of them winning.
