Hi, I'm a clarinettist aged 15 working towards grade 8 . I also play the piano, though not very well, and have recently bought a tenor saxophone to mess about on I adore music and seriously hope to continue with it throughout my life, although I don't think I'm quite cut out for professional music-making!!!

How nice to have another clarinettist; we have a lot of those on the forums, so you should have lots in common. It's a good place for clarinetty advice. TSax should be pleased to see you, too!

You don't have to see yourself as a professional musician to be able to get a lot of enjoyment from your music. I hope you find the forums very useful and fun!

Hi! It seems we have a lot in common. I too am 15, and I've just done grade 8 clarinet, I play the piano, and I've just taken up the tenor saxophone as a new project for after my exam.

Just out of interest, what pieces are you doing for grade 8?

I'm doing Finzi Fughetta from the Five Bagatelles, the last two movements of Schumann's Fantasiestucke, and a study by Berkely. What did you do? I love the pieces, they're just very challenging 9and all have their tricky bits).

I did Allegro con Espressione (Devienne), Air and Variations (William Lloyd Webber) and Study in G minor (Müller).
