I have a balalaika which I don't exactly play but my daughter really enjoys messing around with it. The problem is that it has no... gosh, you will excuse my total absence of knowledge on parts of a balalaika, it's like a tailpiece I suppose, more like a tailpiece cover. The strings go onto individual endpin style pegs in the body of the instruments, but where the loops are formed in the strings there can often be a sharply protruding piece of metal. This should be covered by a sort of a guard piece, or perhaps that piece is an integrated tailpiece where the strings loop on. It's the tail in this photo I am talking about:

I have searched for balalika repairs and things but keep coming up with results in the USA.

Anyone any ideas?
