Good luck for that, hillyb! biggrin.gif

I'm resitting the recital portion of my LRSM with a different programme: Mozart D major concerto, Roussel Joueurs de Flute and Anne Boyd Cloudy Mountain. I just need three more marks. fingersCrossed.gif

I'm sort of vaguely getting things together for the LLCM in Composition (but there's no deadline for that!)

I'm doing ATCL recorder recital. Doing Castello Sonata Prima, Linde's Music For A Bird, Hotteterre Suite in E Minor, and Rondeau Hongrois.

woot.gif good luck, Neil smile.gif. I did the Castello for LGSMD, as I now have to call it, it's a tough piece, but fun, and I hope you enjoy it. Linde's Fantasien and Scherzi was mad, so I'm guessing the Music for a Bird will also be, as well as very effective, the Hotteterre sounds great, and the only one of that batch I'd not come across is Rondeau Hongrois- having looked it up, it sounds really cute...

All the best to everyone, especially andante-in-c too smile.gif - and I'm going to pass up on dips for a few years....though I swore I'd not do another, I'm swithering about the idea after all, but would need to do one heck of a lot of work as well as saving a few pennies.

Good luck to you all! I can't imagine trying to do a diploma in December - it's such a busy time of year.

My teacher thought that as a clarinettist it would suit me. I think she was right, again. wink.gif

The ornaments in the Hotteterre are a bit of a tall order, aren't they?

I decided not to do the resit this time (life got a bit in the way of sorting it out.... sad.gif )

So instead, to keep myself out of mischief, I'm having a go at the Trinity Advanced Certificate in recorder.

Probable repertoire - a half hour programme (plus notes) drawn from:

Alan Bullard's Top Hat Quadrille
VanEyck's Kit's Almande
the Handel C major sonata
Bach's Sarabande from the flute partita BWV 1013 (which I'm planning to play on a bass recorder)
two or three movements from Matthias Maute's "It's Summertime" suite wub.gif
Saint-Saens's Swan from Carnival of the Animals (on my new Great Bass - any excuse to take a whopping big recorder into an exam..... laugh.gif )
Piers Adams's arrangement for sopranino recorder of Gossec's Tambourin.

Programme isn't 100% finalised yet, as I'm waiting for Trinity to come back with a query about the syllabus on the website.

I can't imagine trying to do a diploma in December - it's such a busy time of year.

I made that mistake first time round - never again! What with trying to squeeze in a birthday, choir concerts, extra church services, preparations for Christmas, all of the salaried work for December which needed to be shoe-horned into a shorter working month, pupils taking exams, normal day-to-day life activities as well as the final diploma preparations, it's no wonder that it didn't entirely work out huh.gif

And no, I'm not sitting a diploma this time round (but I do have a pupil taking Grade I).

Excuses, excuses... wink.gif

Life is busy - period. Christmas is no worse than July down my way!!

I haven't done a diploma since Dec 2007 so am feeling the withdrawal symptoms. I do have something up my sleeve but I doubt it will come to pass until 2010...

In the meantime good luck to all and look forward to some positive results in the New Year.

Yes, excuses excuses indeed. I'm rapidly running out of excuses for not adding to my Scrabble set of post nominals.

Yes, life is busy and that's a fact, but there must be something in the water where you are, confutatis - July isn't quite so mad around here, i.e. there is at least time to breathe.

Hehe, but you couldn't have a better teacher for those smile.gif. I find though that she can produce such subtly different ports-de-voix and all the other amazing twiddles that I can't hope to copy them, or if I can, then I can't remember them, and notating them iwell-nigh impossible! You'll do them well though, I know smile.gif.

ooh, sounds like fun - haven't heard the Bullard before, but the rest I do know, and looooove the Handel and Bach wub.gif. Good luck, both with dear Trinity's admin, and with the exam smile.gif.

I'm doing my first diploma, the Dip ABRSM in piano teaching. As an adult, my experiences with exams haven't been too good. I got a really high distinction at Grade 7, (aged 19, still at Sixth Form), but my Grade 8 (aged 20 - working a full time job and teaching for two evenings) was a marginal pass because of a stupid lack of confidence and huge bout of exhaustion which knocked me back.

One day maybe I'll be able to do a performance diploma. But for now, I'm hoping the tiny bit of performance in the teaching diploma will get me used to exams again, and playing 'classical' in front of people.... eeek! wacko.gif

I just started the LTCM. It's been a while since I did the academic stuff. Lots to do, but at my own pace. Luckily I have a history of lessons to review rather than waiting for new adventures in teaching.
Lunaflute
I accidently entered myself for LTCL recital on flute, so I am playing:
Bach Partita in A minor, Mozart Concerto in D major, Hue Fantasie and Ballade by Frank Martin.
I took ATCL back in July 2004 and haven't done an exam since then so AAAAAAAARGHHHHH!! (got distinction that time though, so the pressure's on) wacko.gif
