Can anyone enlighten me as to when the clocks change, and in what direction also?
Flossie
blink.gif I'm glad you started this thread. I'd forgotten about it. wacko.gif

The clocks change at 2am, and 2 o'clock becomes 1 o'clock, which means you get an extra hours sleep. smile.gif

Not so good for those working night shifts though. sad.gif For some reason I always seemed to end up with this particular night shift when i worked in nursing. rolleyes.gif

I'd never thought of people working, did you get paid for an extra hour?

EASY WAY TO REMEMBER:

Spring forward

Fall Back

'Fall' is the old english word for autumn and is still used in the USA.

So in spring you put the hour forward one hour...etc

No. They always argued that it would balance itself out in the long run with the spring clock change (where they don't subtract the hour you don't have). But, I worked the autumn clock change night almost every year and only once did the spring one (out of 9 years of nursing with internal rotation to night shifts - which works out as around 4-7 night shifts per month).

The clock changes are absolute nuisance in acute and critical care settings (most of the time I worked on Neuro HDU or Acute neurosurgy). It mucks up all your pumps and monitoring equipment and stuff. wacko.gif

You'll be fine gedall. smile.gif You've already got some of the grade 7 pieces sorted and you did all the aural and stuff from piano, so grade 6 will be a romp in the park for you. smile.gif

Oh ########! (enter appropriate word of your choice. tongue.gif) I've managed to force myself out of bed an hour early - I only just noticed the time on my computer. My phone has apparently not changed of it own accord, so woke me up when it thought was 10.00, and I forgot to change my watch last night. dry.gif

Hmm. I had the opposite problem. ph34r.gif I changed the time on phone (which is also my alarm clock) before I went to bed and, as I've only had the phone a couple of months, I didn't realise that it was also going to change itself. happy.gif Alarm went off at 8:30, got up, did a few things, had a shower and then discovered when I looked at my watch (which I had also changed) that it was 10:10. ohmy.gif I live a 25-30 minute walk (dependent on how quickly I can cross certain roads) from church and needed to be there by 10:30 to sound check. blink.gif The PA guy ended up having to balance me during the first hymn and I also had to do some tuning. blush.gif Luckily I don't think the congregation noticed.

Isn't it miserable now the clocks have gone back having evenings go dark so early. I had to put the lights on at 5pm. sad.gif

I like when it gets dark early when I'm in the city centre, because it just makes me think of Christmas laugh.gif I am feeling nostalgic for longer days, though...

My bedside alarm clock automatically went back an hour yesterday, as in my post above.

Today, it went forward an hour, back to BST.

Now, it's gone back an hour again...
