I went out tonight to see Aida broadcast live from NY's Metropolitan Opera House to Exeter's Picturehouse cinema. Unfortunately I left after the first act and claimed my money back. Something went wrong with the satellite link which cut out almost all the sound in the priestesses' chorus in the second scene. No public announcement was made by the cinema manager (rather remiss of him) but individual staff members, when asked, said it was down to a technical problem "at their [i.e. the Met's] end".
Did anyone else experience the same technical fault? Assuming that other venues were showing the same live broadcast.
