Turkey and coleslaw on a big granary bap.
Cream cheese and anchovies on wholemeal bread.
Bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo on crusty white - but the bacon has to be hot, or at least warm.
So many favourites...

Tesco's cheapy red cheddar, tomato and mayonaise!

After that, it's a close call between cheese and pickle and ham and mustard.

I used to love the potted meat sandwiches they did near where I worked. The risk of contracting BSE from them was far lower than the risk of crossing the road to the sandwich shop, but nevertheless we had to be protected from it so they were withdrawn

ooh Banana sandwiches used to be my favourite, until I developed an intolerance to banana. I used to love to squash them down with a knife - yum! Think we grew up on banana sandwiches. I was horrified when I first married my ex husband and he showed me that they used to put sugar in with theirs! yuk!

Bacon and banana is nice, too.
Partial to brie and grape, or peanut butter and prune (if I'm F-planning).

Depending on mood:
Smoked salmon & cream cheese
Hot bacon & egg
Jam & peanut butter
Hand-cut smoked ham with mustard & mayonnaise
Cheddar cheese, Marmite & mayonnaise
I used to like (still do) a cheese & marmite sandwich: No bread, just 2 slices of cheese with a smear of marmite between!

Boiled egg, chopped tomato and salad cream all mashed up together. The salad cream get round the problem of holding the filling together.
Cheddar and chilli jam. Reggae sauce is also good with cheese - how unsophisticated can you get?
Brie and cranberry sauce (raspberry jam also works)
(veggie) sausages and English mustard.
I make my own sandwiches every day so when I am in a hurry or can't be bothered I have cheese scones or baps spread with mustard, potato scones with butter or malt loaf and butter. Congealed pizza from the tight before can also be found in my lunchbox from time to time - yumm - and garlic bread tastes better the next day when it has cooled.

Or as the poet Kit Wright put it...
If you're no good at cooking,
Can't fry or bake,
Here's something you
Can always make. Take
Three very ordinary
Slices of bread.
Stack the first
On the second one's head.
Stack the third
On top of that.
There! Your three slices

So what have you got?
A BREAD SANDWICH.
That's what!
Why not?

I had feta cheese, olives and cucumber in a wrap at the V&A on Saturday and it was just bliss because I was tired and starving
Tuna, loads of capers, Hellmans mayo, and cajun salt is also good.. the capers burst in your mouth with a vinegary taste which is just delightful with the tuna!!
A neighbour here has her own hens and the eggs are out of this world - boiled, mashed with some butter, salt and ground pepper, in seeded and malted brown bread...mmmmmm
I also had a really good cheese and ham toastie yesterday
