Petite Joueuse

Over the next few weeks I'll have the chance to "make" my classes sing... but I'd like to something a bit more challenging/interesting than the usual Christmas Carols.
Any ideas?
The pupils are aged 11 to 16 - there is next to no singing in the school - this is a new venture for me.

Some of them might like the idea and be enthusiastic!

It's not exactly new - but you might look at the Calypso carol ??
(There'll be a new world beginning from tonight)
They might surprise you and enjoy something gentle like Silent Night - pitched a bit lower if they 're not used to singing (not too low!) . Are there boys and girls? If so maybe the older boys could learn a simple bass line to this - could be effective.
Personent hodie (find an English version though) is singable and generally goes down well (the one with the introduction of 7 descending melodic minor notes - let me know if this doesn't sound familiar! and I'll look it up)
