Its 1.45 am and I should be soundly in the land of Nod..Been decorating the music studio for days..vast space its been a monster..the ceiling is 5 meters vaulted and we have been up scaffolds lined it and painted the enitre room pure white..now the woodwork has to be done..You would think after that lot I would sleep like a log but No..I awoke after a terrifying nightmare of the Hannibal Lectur type..lord knows why..I never watch horror/slasher movies or read scarey books unless you count Harry Potter. I'm so shaken up I am looking at security bars for the windows and intruder alarms...It'll be ages before I will get to sleep again..Curses.. sad.gif I have had a run of bad nights for ages..I rarely sleep more than four maybe five hours at most and I am quite worn out..Nothing is worrying me so why can't I sleep.. wacko.gif

Oh well time for tea it wont help me sleep but it'll settle my jangling nerves after the silly nightmare.. rolleyes.gif

I'm sorry to hear that, A.U.K. I hope the security measures are successful, and perhaps you might research Native American dream catchers, about which I know next to nothing except that they are rather nice to look at. smile.gif If they deal with the nightmares too so much the better. biggrin.gif

Thanks Andante in C..I finally got to sleep around 4 am but my mood had lightened and I kept myself company by watching two fantastic programs, one on Italy which was simply wonderful, the other on Russian Art which was truely beautiful..So not a total loss..the funny thing is I had been at dinner earlier and this man was talking about the walled city of Luca and low and behold where did this program on Italy visit..Luca..I was amazed and enthralled so maybe it was serendipity..The down side is I am absolutely exhausted and I have a lesson at 3.30..

Have called the security people to come and measure for window bars for the bedroom and security gates for the doors..I dont know why I got my knickers in such a frightful bunch..I'm not a nervous person but this horrible dream had me very jumpy..Now all I have to arrange is decent burgler alarm system..cameras etc..

i'll keep an eye out for dream catchers..never heard of them or seen one so I'll take your word they a nice to look at..

Sorry to hear about your bad night, A.U.K. I don't get bad dreams very often but when I do they are very hard to shake off - they seem to poison half the next day. Immerse yourself in nice things and all the best for a good night. smile.gif

Funniest bad dream I had (not at the time, but afterwards) was when I thought there was a crocodile coming up the bed to get me...I was out of the bed and half way across the room before hubby caught up with me and convinced me it wasn't real... wacko.gif

I've been suffering broken sleep patterns for a little while. Not the scary dreams thank goodness. But last night I was just about to make my before-bed cup of tea when I came across a herbal tea which we'd acquired from a hotel over the summer. So I had that instead, and had a much better night sleep-wise. So try some herbal tea perhaps? smile.gif Hope you have a better night tonight.

I was watching at about the same time as you, Baz, and I have to say that thought crossed my mind too...I felt sorry for him as he was clearly VERY nervous, but it was pretty painful to watch sad.gif .

Even the lovely Michael Johnson looked somewhat p**d off..

I saw UB's false start too - felt so sorry for him even if it was down to his own lack of focus (not my inside knowledge there, just quoting Michael Johnson) - whatever the reason, it's such a shame.

I agree with the comment on our presenter - I don't know who he is blush.gif but he seems painfully inexperienced and sounds very young, like a childrens' TV presenter. I do like Michael Johnson - hope they have him there in 2012.

I agree mostly, Barry, but I have enjoyed watching the decathlon EXCEPT yesterday in particular the ad breaks nearly had me screaming - at one point they were every 7 or 8 minutes - one long jump, one 400m decathlon race and an ad break AWFUL. I'm so glad the Olympics will be on the BBC (they will, won't they?)

Agree about the 'children's presenter'...

Rather like Jake of F1 "fame". I cringe whenever he says "well done" as though F1 drivers are 5 year olds having just won the school egg and spoon race.

Speaking of F1 - great performance by Jenson today given yesterday's c0ck up. Wonderful race - but then it was Spa so no real surprise.

Also - a great stage on the Vuelta a Espania for Bradley Wiggins. Looking forward to tomorrow's time trial.

I'm also beginning to hate the after-race interview. Sometimes the athletes are so upset with the way they've performed, or how a race has gone, that they are near to tears and certainly not really coherent, and I don't want to see them doing their best to be polite (which they always are), or to explain why things went wrong. Give them time to get their dignity together, for goodness' sake sad.gif
