As a native of the region of the river Mǽres-ēa (Anglo-Saxon for border river) I have absolutely no interest in pursuits invovling chasing bags of wind around a lea (Old English 'leah' = open ground). tongue.gif

Listening to a 'conversation' between the cat and MrCJB. It's something on the lines of

Cat: mew
MrCJB: mew
Cat: MEW
MrCJB: What?
Cat: MEOW
MrCJB: No I'm not making your dinner
Cat: MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
MrCJB: GO AWAY

I think I'll go to the kitchen and put them both out of their misery.

I think I've inadvertently had one... ohmy.gif Had to drive to Coventry and back today. Got home quite handily and promptly zonked out for two hours on the sofa... sleep.gif . I rashly offered to draw up a constitution for an organisation that wants to become a charity, so that was a bit of time (I've done it before so glorified cut-and-paste jobbie).

In the community orchestra I'm playing in, we're tackling Beethoven 5, movements 3 and 4.This, it must be said is seriously adventurous stuff for me unsure.gif Cellists have a lot to do (all those Cmin and Bbmin passages for a start). There's a lot of rapid passage work with continuous shifting between positions I to V.

So.... spent the last hour and a half with a pencil, my part, and a fingering chart working out fingerings - I've never put so many fingerings in a piece, ever blink.gif It'll be interesting to see if I can in fact play them tongue.gif And I've only done 3 pages so far......

Feeling slightly smug rolleyes.gif Found an error in the part - looked wrong so I dug out my pocket full score (remnant of A214) and checked - I was right! Brain still works sometimes huh.gif

Excruciatingly bored.

I've been off this week (not my preferred plan, I usually avoid half term). I live on my own anyway, but I usually have stuff lined up, but not this week for all kinds of reasons.

I had kept this weekend free as today is my brother's 50th birthday, so I had assumed that there would be festivities to deal with (and is why I didn't plan to go to London today and why I turned something else down). At fairly short notice (three weeks ago), he changed his mind and went away on Thursday with his OH to Cornwall and left my nephews at home. My mum has gone over to make sure things don't get out of hand.

So, one choir is off this week, one music lesson was cancelled, no need to pop over to mum's to help with her shopping etc (she doesn't drive) and apart from the chamber choir last Monday and orchestra this morning, I've not seen or spoken to anyone all week.

The highlight of the week was a visit to the luthier and spending three hours writing explanatory notes about a constitution I've drawn up and references to charity commission documents for the orchestra which would like to register as a charity - I've done this before so I volunteered to help them with it. Oh, and reading some G6 theory stuff.

Exciting stuff huh?

I think I'll go for a swim - it'll keep me off the streets for an hour or so! rolleyes.gif

I'll be able to justify a glass of wine later then.
