Looking at bridesmaid dressed on the internet with our ex lodger- well she's as good as a daughter! So excited!

I am wondering if we are going to take on the dog the vet offered us yesterday. I very much want to but my partner isn't sure and it has to be a joint decision. The dog is ten years old, female, a rather overfed poodle whose master has apparantly died. There seems to be no one to take her on and I don't think at that age she will stand much chance in an animal refuge. We have told the vet to let anyone who makes a definite offer take her - I have been racking my brains to think of anyone I know but most of my friends are like us - full house animal wise. But I did rather take a shine to her .....

We have a couple of days to think it over.

Trying to sort out scout health forms to register kids online for a camp in June- deadline is Monday... you need the exact date of last tetanus and NHS number and most parents handed the forms in without this info, so I'm chasing them up!

Sitting in my conservatory with both doors to the garden open and Chopin's Piano Concerto no 1 on the sound machine. It's really warm in here. My wife, who's listening to a f*****ll commentary on BBC London 94.9 in the house doesn't know what she's missing!

What a Pain!!

I'm supposed to be looking for a towel airer that will fit over the radiator - the sort that just hooks on for my mother's now converted bathroom. What joy! Have just been out to buy her a towelling robe, so progress is being made.

Boiling an egg. I love boiled eggs and my OH dislikes eggs of any kind and in any shape or form, so as he's out and won't be back til 8 .........

looking for a better fingering chart for the oboe, the one in the tutor book is ok but I'm looking for alternative fingerings for some notes

looking at the calories I've had today and calculating whether or not I have enough left to have both a chai latte at bedtime and one of those toffee waffles one of kids' mums brought for me yesterday...

And I haven't. I insist on the chai for bedtime (delicious) and the waffles will still be there tomorrow unless husband gets at all of them.

I'd better have a little bit of yogurt instead. Just hold on to this thought. The waffles will still be there tomorrow.

Waffly good stuff! I've been counting my tea consumption. When I was ill yesterday and Monday I brewed up eight times and had two coffees. Today I only had 4 teas and 1 coffee. I want a waffle now!

as it's St David's day, I thought I'd dig out some of my Welsh stuff. Shirley Bassey and Tom Jones can go and take respective long walks off short piers. I'm listening to Y Cyrff (90s rock band) and I also have a psychedelic track entitled 'Cwcwll' by an old band called Beganifs (pronounced beg-anne-eaves) on the shelf that I might have a look for.

I bet this is the first time anyone's mentioned Beganifs and Y Cyrff on 'ere!

I have never yet managed to get away with teaching on Sundays here. In fact, on the Sabbath, you can hear a pin drop.

Have just finished cutting OH's hair, and now procrastinating about flute practice.

I'm procrastinating tidying up - we're having VIP visitors next weekend, so I'm starting early.

right just done them, sat for five minutes considering where the sharps and flats were, tapped out the rhythm of the piece, looked at every single aspect of the music...and then proceeded with all admiration and aplomb to #### the whole thing up.

And for those of you thinking 'oh it's him again being his usual self-depreciating self again' my three exam pieces seem as far as I can see to be getting better, as are my scales and technical exercises. Sight reading is like going round the London Marathon course on one leg..it's just a pity it's actually included in the AB graded exam....

I thought that b-c might be less than Skippety-Hop at the mention of that word...
