Working out the budget for my chamber choir's autumn concert to see if we can afford to hire a chamber organ. I think probably not as it's looking like about GBP2,500 for strings, oboes, trumpets, timps and organist.
To be fair, the organ in the venue is not bad and in fact has some historically interesting pipework (I believe some of the metal flutes are particularly fine being made from a very good alloy). Unlike the local church where we have to hire a chamber organ as the pitch is somewhere around A=460+ (some of the pipework is C17th but it's mostly Victorian and has been altered).

I know what you mean about coping with stress, Cyrilla. I thought the wisdom of experience would bring less stress but I find my stress threshold has lowered too...

Agreed - I certainly don't seem to cope with stress any better as I get older!

Movement 2 is lovely though... Both 1 and 3 sound fun - let me know once you make your decision
