I've had pretty much a whole day of it tbh... Decided to unwind by doing some practice and messing with Sibelius, feel a bit less mentally frazzled now tongue.gif

I need to find something to "de-frazzle"-normally piano/violin, but I don't think my family'd be overjoyed to hear an out of tune Moon River or awful attempt at Faure's Pavane fill the house at twenty past midnight!

I'll rephrase that-was I to hear an out of tune Moon River or awful attempt at Faure's Pavane fill the house at twenty past midnight, I think I would probably leave the house before my family had time to do anything!!

Still uploading the CD's to iTunes: My CD's are stored in alphabetical order: I've just done CD 110 and I'm only just doing Dvorak! I must have more than I thought.

I'm guessing though, that the contribution of Xenakis, Yon and Zipoli will not be quite so prolific! biggrin.gif

When I consider my sheet music collection, the composers within the category A-D do seem to be out of proportion with other sections of the alphabet. With Bach, Bax, Britten, Brahms, Beethoven, Berkeley, Bridge, Bowen .... the Bs are represented more than any other letter!

What am I doing though? I'm waiting for organist David Briggs to be featured on Radfio 3's programme In Tune, ahead of Saturday's Bach Day at the Proms. he is the emeritus organist of Gloucester Cathedral - effectively just down the road from here - a brilliant and famed improviser on the instrument. smile.gif

Never been to Manchester myself and no further North than Leeds/York (unless a day out in Scarborough counts). ph34r.gif

Never visited Scarborough, but the other three places you mention all have considerable merit. It's not possible to cover all York has to offer in a day, there's loads to see and do in and around Manchester, and Leeds is another city with plenty to offer, it's also on the doorstep of some rather nice countryside. smile.gif

London heat is, I feel, over-rated. Generally, London's not good at heat : it's usually accompanied by high humidity and little/no breeze, as such it's rather uncomfortable...

No ACDC (unless I get to share my kids laptops when they're on)

I just loaded number 300: Mendelssohn. (mind you, the kitchen CD's are out of order and I loaded most of them this morning).

{Edit: If I hadn't loaded the last couple of dozen or so in reverse order the 300th would have been a Mozart Piano Concerto.}

Munching some pork scratchings!

Having just listened to a repeat of Sunday's Food Programme on Radio 4, devoted solely to discussing this snack, it was somewhat torturous not having any at hand to sample. So I've dragged myself the twenty-two yards to my local butcher to satisfy the craving.

(Just because it's 22 yards away, doesn't make my butcher's a chain-store! biggrin.gif )

Still loading CD's: I'm nearly done now, as I'm into the W's. No. 400 just going through is Fred Wedlock - The Oldest Swinger In Town (already transferred to CD from Vinyl a few years ago). After the alphabetical list (and the kitchen) there will be just the compilations (e.g. "20th Century Classics" and the candidate for the most wonderfully understated title in the world, "The Best Jazz Album in the World . . . Ever") to go. Mind you that's probably another 50 or so! Will I get to 500? smile.gif

Edit: If I load the stuff belonging to my kids, 500 is a dead cert!
