Nearby, there is a 1920's Aelionne (sp?) Pianola for sale, along with 67 rolls, electrically operated, with working pedals (I assume that this means sustain, rather than bellows).

What faults are there to look out for when looking/trying them out? Obviously, I'll give a good try out as just a piano, but I want to ensure that the pianola mechanism is working well. I dont really think getting a technician to come is really an option unfortunately, as its too short notice...

Some years ago I bought a book on Player Pianos and/or Pianolas for a friend who had acquired one in dubious condition. This page lists several, one of which might be available from your local library, if you're very lucky! Could be an interesting project!
