It depends how many slots katyjay is willing to give me : as I want to lay the ghost of 2009 by singing in at least one slot...

Brilliant, I shall try everything to attend.
*note to self, phone office in the morning to book day off*

See you there.

Regards, Peter.

I'll pass on the info to my adult pupils right away - this is very good timing, as they're having a get-together themselves on Saturday to perform to each other - and if they discuss your event there, more of them are likely to want to give it a go! I know that the two who came last time are very keen to come again, as they really enjoyed it. smile.gif
oboe d'amore
smile.gif Fantastic!

I have put this day in my diary already and passed it to my friends.
I probably need a pianist if my friend is not coming...

Katyjay, I will send my applicaitton form as soon as possible. (so is it ok to introduce a pianist to me?)

Looking forward to see you all again! thereThere.gif

I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to make this one. sad.gif It clashes with something else.

Hope you all have a great time (which I'm sure you will)

Willing to accompany. Will sort paperwork out later.

Happy to accompany smile.gif

Will try to send out the form as soon as I can...

Thanks very much for the offers of accompaniments biggrin.gif

Sounds great, could you put my name down please.

Something to look forward to in the New Year smile.gif

If I take on any accompaniments, they'd have to be very easy. Put it this way, I can do a fair impression of the grade 1 accompaniments in the AB flute/clarinet compilation volumes! laugh.gif

Make sure that you get an application form off.
This is a little more formally arranged than the recent piano playdays which Solari has been running and it's getting the form and money in that reserves your place.
As this event is also open to non forum members sooner rather than later might be a good plan to be sure of a performing slot.

If previous years are anything to go by, I wouldn't leave it all that long, this is one of the most popular forum events there is smile.gif

I'm willing to do accompaniments if they are not too difficult. Barry, are you going to sing the song that you didn't sing last year?

I'll get the form off ASAP.

The solo I ended up being well enough to do at Anglesey. Don't know if Amber will make it in 2010, but it might be nice to give the duet I was going to do this year with her a go. smile.gif

Have written Big Note To Self to check with husband regarding the date of this event. Have also printed off form. Have also thought of something to play. I think...

I posted the form this morning - so is on the way to you, Karyjay!
I am really looking forward to see you and join the performance.
Especially Barry's singing (we missed it last year) and cello? unsure.gif
And of course will stay until the end! ( Would love to join in the photos all together smile.gif )

Cello will depend on whether I'm allowed two slots : priority is to get as many people in with one slot as possible... smile.gif

Barry, how do you find out about train disruption so far in advance? My lot (national express east anglia) have a couple listed for early Feb, but there 'list of February disruption' I won't expect to be published until January. Do you have somewhere special you look it up?!

I know. I was looking forward to it and it was one of the reasons I was most disappointed not to be able to go. Hope we get to do a duet one day soon.

Shall I try and book the King's Head pub again for the post-concert meal? It's where we went last year when the Adelaide was booked up.

TfL publish tube disruption on their website up to six months in advance, and currently they're up to date up to about the end of April. Southeastern Trains are also excellent at updating engineering details for their network, and they are up to date to the end of January.

Otherwise, I use National Rail Enquiries, and they have details at the moment up to the 9th January.

I think I may just turn up as a spectator on second thoughts... the thought of a formal, programmed concert is really not flicking my switch right now... plus I don't think I'll have anything new up to scratch by then (plus anything I would play would be over 5 minutes long)... wacko.gif

Yeah would be great to hear you play if you do change your mind. I am determined to play piano in front of a human audience instead of my dogs but I might end up hiding and shaking in a corner unsure.gif

I don't have a problem in a casual environment where it's generally accepted that we're messing around, but I found my pupil's concert to be about 6548.12 times more stressful than the last piano playday I arranged smile.gif A "formal" environment will probably result in my brain turning into green mush and oozing out of my ears, which would be most embarrassing. tongue.gif

I'll think about it smile.gif

Sol, don:t worry.
I was exact same - extreamly nervous. And my piece was under 2 minutes! so?
it doesn't matter, we were still enjoyed!
I really enjoyed to talk to people and meet new friends. This is why I want to come more forum events.

To someone like me, who likes to dress like a tramp outside of work, it is. I do enough "formal" during the week! biggrin.gif

I don't think I feel ready to give a proper "performance" of anything at the moment. I'm happy to do casual playdays but that's my limit right now. smile.gif

I'm travelling down for the weekend with only a backpack and a clarinet...... Dressing up is out of the question. tongue.gif

Seriously, stick with what makes you feel comfortable. Will be good to have you in the audience and it's a way to suss things out for another time. smile.gif

lois
Definately be there for this one. My form will go in the post shortly but I haven't got a clue what I'll be playing.

Is it OK to send form in and decide later what to play? I won't leave it too late I promise smile.gif

Lois
katyjay
Hi Lois, yes it's fine to decide later. With one condition - anyone that wants accompanying must decide on their piece by the closing date so that I can sort out a suitable accompanist and give them a chance to learn the music.

Unaccompanied performances, I need the piece details before I print the programme.

Fastest form this time is a dead heat between Panthera and Oboe d'Amore biggrin.gif

!!! Me? I hope you will receive it soon. (I asked 2 concert tickets as well.)

I have started to work on Cor Anglais music as entry condition "Prior attendance but new instrument" - oh I try the best. wacko.gif
My music was actually composed for recorder and strings, I hope many people likes it! wink.gif

Yes, Oboe d'Amore. What I mean is yours is one of the two forms I received this morning, including your audience tickets biggrin.gif

And I'm sure I'll like the music. I tend to be a bit biased in favour of recorder music....
