Hi all,
as the title suggests, I would need a translation of the word Frühbarock. Which means in general "early barock". But neither leo nor wikipedia say that a translation exists. So to you English native speaking music experts. Is there a word in English with that meaning? How would you translate?
Thanks for the help!

I think early baroque is the best you're going to find. I can't locate a better translation in any of my usual sources for obscure German words.
Unless some of the early music experts can suggest a suitable english term for "early baroque"?

Early Baroque

Pronounced the same as Barock in German I pressume. I don't actually speak much German, but translating Barock on it's own comes up as Baroque.

Edit: Tamsin beat me to it!

Yup, I'd also use early baroque, and of course there is the subset which also gets the name Stylus Phantasticus, which tends to overlap with the idea of early baroque somewhat.
