Full Version: Writing In Transposed Notes

I will have to ask him next time but I was intrigued at a choir practice yesterday by someone (I think he's Malaysian) who was writing in the note names of the (tenor) part but all transposed down a tone.

It was normal notation (treble clef down an octave) and he was singing the right notes, so anyone any idea why he might have been doing that?
