Jamie was having his trombone lesson and was playing the exercise his teacher had given him to do last week. It was quite long.
At the end she said to him "I think you've only practiced to the fifth position. Why do you think I want you to practice to the seventh position?"
Jamie "To make my arms longer?"
He was serious too.

Aww love it! I would probably have said something like that too! but my arms actually do need to be longer to reach 7th position think I best stick to cornet

My piano teacher once asked me to practise a piece for 'just one more week!' to get it really polished. My answer: "Are you trying to make me develop RSI?"
