I knew there was a relatively newly published book about Purcell so I went to the online shop and looked in "Books on Music" and "Academic Books". Nothing about Purcell was listed so I did a search for Purcell and discovered at least two books about Purcell which don't show up in the relevant sections. There may be more, but most of the returns seemed to be exam books etc so I didn't look at all x pages.
Why have sections entitled Books on Music and Academic Books which give the misleading impression that there are only two or three relevant books, when there are actually dozens more - who knows how many, I could give various other examples myself but I'm sure I've only touched the tip of the iceberg.
Surely one of the advantages of having an online bookshop is so that people can browse and buy something they might not otherwise have thought of searching for...
Come on AB, you've got some brilliant books - put them on show, don't keep them hidden!!! If you're going to have a shop, you might as well make it easy for us part with our money!

I don't use the ABRSM online shop, precisely for the reason that it is one of the worst websites to navigate that I've ever used. I can NEVER find what I want, even if I know the name of it and the author/composer. I think it probably needs redesigning.

I sent it in as feedback AGES ago because it is the most dreadfully designed thing ever. If you go to the 'recorder' section, you get three books come up which are the recorder highlights. If you actually want to browse all the recorder music, you have to type 'recorder' in to the search box. It's fine if you know what you want, but it does nothing for the drive-by, impulse-purchase browser - the sort of people most online shops like

Too much hassle to bother with - in fact I find the whole site a bit of a nightmare - lots of links that don't go where you expect, lead to dead ends etc and I can never find the page where you can download MP3s of the exam pieces. I have bookmarked it now but it is really well hidden!

I've never spent a penny with the ABRSM on line shop, and yet I amass past papers, and absolutely devour music related books...but as stated by posters above, the site is not attractive to browsing buyers.

If it's a biography or something similar you're looking for rather than sheet music you're probably better looking at amazon or somewhere anyway to be honest.
