OK, folks, we can't ignore all the adverts dropping through our letter boxes and from every magazine at this time of year. It always amuses me to see what people try to sell in the Christmas shopping boom, so I thought maybe we could post the funniest ones.
My contender for most hopeful advert is from Hillier Garden Centre. Under the heading "Something special to indulge the ones you love" is printed:
Make her feel special with a clothesline this Christmas.
Sorry, but my response to anyone unwise enough to put a clothesline under the tree might well be to hang them out on it to sober up! Is there anyone out there for whom a clothesline would cut the mustard?
So, what else can we come up with as a forum? Over to you!

I have been given tea towels as a present.

I believe I retaliated with a gadget that cuts up cucumber in twirls.

My mum once got me loads of makeup. I never ever wear makeup, and clearly she was intending to change that

My aunt got me a bra when I was about eleven - it was huge, think Jordan size. She said I would grow into it...am still waiting.

It's quite entertaining to have a look at old chain store Christmas ads from years gone by (1970s/80s particularly...). Youtube and the excellent TV Ark have a good selection...
