no, not me. i can only learn from memorization. i practice about a measure over and over until it registers. only because i suck at sight reading

Cant' be bad if what you say on here is true. dry.gif .

It has taken me months and I still can't manage one little section of the aleghretto at the right speed! Very flustrating, as I canm play the rest pretty well, and thought the cadenzas would be the hardest part. It it may be one of those things that I just have to leave and come back to.

It's currently in trinity grade 7!

I find the third section of the alegretto harder than the cadenzas and by far the hardest section of the piece! I can play the rest quite well - very annoying, just a repeated sectino of 8 bars standing in the way of playnig the whole thing right through
'*~ iluvpiano ~*'
its bloody difficult!!!!
saxlover
erm you can only kind of play a little. its too difficult for you to learn properly, itll take you ages. i havent even got it to how it needs to be yet

dont be stupid. you are only learning 2 pieces at the moment, you cant paly them all through properly yet, you havent added dynamics or anything. you still have another piece to learn. you need to improve your sight reading and you dont know all your scales yet. im not being bigheaded or nasty, its the truth. most people dont do the next grade the very next session after doing an exam. i am because i have to
'*~ iluvpiano ~*'
i can try

and miss gould sed that if i practice hard enough then i mite just do it in feb.

mmm
'*~ iluvpiano ~*'
what?

im not being stupid im just going with what miss sed
saxlover
and im just going by what ive heard. seriously would you rather rush and get a rubbish mark in feb when you can wait and get a good mark in june.

be honest with yourself, do you really think you can do it in feb
'*~ iluvpiano ~*'
i think i could pass but no i couldn't get the best mark in the world

im practising like 4 hours a day
saxlover
im not being nastry or anything, i really want you to get a good mark and in my opinion you should wait until the summer, but its not my decision. if you do it in feb then good luck but if you dont get the mark you want then dont say i didnt warn you.
saxlover
you can pracitce all day long if you wanted but it has to be constructive practice

what does that mean? laugh.gif
saxlover
it means that you dont just play your pieces through 5 times and then go and do something else. work on the parts of pieces you cant do until you get them right
'*~ iluvpiano ~*'
i do most of the time
saxlover
i give up. back to the original topic everyone

Well to do it in the next session I think your teacher might just expect everything to be perfect (or almost) by the closing entry date of January 14th.
Now.. as you said on another topic that you are still poretty slow at namig notes I think you could be better taking a little more time to maximise your marks.
cecilia
*cough* PMs again, iluvpiano and Nat, PMs! *cough*

If you would be happy with the kind of mark you'll get in February, by all means go ahead- but if I were you I'd wait until June.
'*~ iluvpiano ~*'
ok ill probably do that then
