Having now listened to some of Larry Och's playing, I'm with the guy who complained

I once played with a trumpeter who believed that it wasn't jazz if you couldn't dance to it.

Jazz is an approach, people, not a style. Doesn't mean you have to like all varieties (Evan Parker? Derek Bailey? John Zorn? Wynton Marsalis?).

It's jazz all right, just not the type of jazz I like!

I just saw a video of Larry Ochs and Nels Cline and Larry sounds like something off of Tom and Jerry. I'm with the bloke who complained.
