Cleopatra
i'll be taking my grade 7 piano exam ( practical exam ) somewhere this year huh.gif . so, i need some tips or advice on how to practise and stuff especially on the pieces, scales and sight reading.......... please drop me a line or two on this topic............... thanks heaps! biggrin.gif

Colour code groups of your scales!!! it may sound really daft, but I find it makes them just the tiniest bit more interesting!!so then pick a colour to practise, and just do those and no others.
With the pieces, start at the end of the piece and work through chunks of it slowly, rather than starting at the beginning and never getting to the end.
hope that helps!
Cleopatra
thank you so much on your advice. i'll try it out soon. smile.gif

Me too! Sititng for Grade 7 Piano.
What pieces are you choosing?
Cleopatra
i think it's song A1 and for song B, I chose one of the alternative pieces, which i cant remember the title. wink.gif it's the piece by ilynsky. and i chose song C3. i'm not really sure if i'm going to stick to that yet. i'll see how things go. smile.gif what pieces did u chose?
tzl_tzl
I choose A2, B3 and C1.
I like A2 the BEST!

Hi Cleopatra,
did you know you can read the teaching notes ( useful for students too!) on line ?

Go to resources - piano syllabus, and look for teaching notes, then go to the grade and the pieces you need. Might give you some ideas !

good luck smile.gif

Postscript to last post - realise I gave you wrong information., Cleopatra.

What I thought was a useful link on the AB website turned out to be nothing more than an advert for the book. Sorry !! That will teach me to check my sources first. ph34r.gif

Maybe someone you know has the book of teaching notes and would let you borrow it ??
