Full Version: Anthem For This Sunday...

Keith the 'wannabe organist'
I was wondering what people will be singing as an anthem this coming Sunday (Tomorrow, the 27th) during communion. I've been asked to play you see, and that means I get to choose the anthem too.
Now, I saw Barry Williams thread about In Dulci Jubilo, and thought that might be good (something very easy to play or unaccompanied is the main criteria laugh.gif ) though on finding it in the carol book, it says that it is a traditional Christmas Eve carol.
Do you think that it would be unsuitable for tomorrow?

Also on the cards is Infant Holy, Infant Lowly (Willcocks).

Thanks in advance smile.gif

Oh, I've also risen to the rank of 'Assistant organist' of my church now (though I'm still not particularly good laugh.gif )

We will be singing a super easy version of the Wexford Carol. The verses are totally in unison. This is because getting the mass parts right for Christmas is really hard work and we needed an easy-out for Sunday! On Sunday week we will recycle one of our Christmas Eve anthems, Infant Holy, Infant Lowly, which the choir learned new this year.

This is my first year conducting over Christmas and I have to say it's a bit stressful! I'm hoping the first is the worst.

Hope you're enjoying the holidays.
