I'm writing from Brisbane, Australia.. I've been performing in a choir as a soprano for the past year, but I only read music rudimentarily. I was recently in a performance where people actually paid money to see it, and I absolutely loved it. I think I've always been a performer (I used to dance), but somewhere I got too shy to perform on stage. But now I know that's what I want to dedicate my life to.
So now I'm doing Grade 2 music theory and Grade 1 piano to help me along. I'd also like to do voice exams, but I'm waiting for the new year to do some private lessons and get confident in sight reading. I'm finding it a challenge, but I'm really loving it thus far.
I've chosen to do the ABRSM exam over the (Australian) AMEB exams because they're recognised world-wide. For my Grade 1 piano I've chosen Vivaldi, Gedike and Balazs. I love that Trudging song.
So look out for me, I hope to ask a lot of questions, hopefully not too dumb.
