Today my daughter and I found a book titled "The Illustrated musical Instruments Handbook", and we love this book. With many quality colour photos it introduces instruments from all over the world (very cultural learning here) explaining their origins and how they are played. I think the information in the "Reference"section in the book is very useful for those who are preparing for Theory exams. It is a lovely book to pick up and browse through. It was £4.99 from a local shop.
Its ISBN is 978-1844515202.
Do you have any interesting books you recommend?

I recently found a book entitles 'The Young Musicians Survival Guide" by Amy Nathan. Lots of anecdotal advice from both professional musicians (some very famous ones included) and teenagers on aspects of playing as a young person. Topics covered such as how to practise effectively, practice blues, how to overcome exam / performance nerves, managing your time well. Easy to read and a well balanced perspective offered, mentioning the maintaining an element of fun aspect.

I have just bought a book titled "The Right Way to Read Music" by Harry Baxter and Michael Baxter (Author), and I love this. To me, this is a book of Music Theory in Practice G1 to G6+" all in one.
Has anybody got this book for you/ your child(ren),and what's your rating for this book?
