In Scales & Arpeggios book for Piano (Grade 8),

for the first section:

Major and Minor Scales (melodic and harmonic) in similar motion
Hands separately and together an octave apart: 4 octaves

In this book, e.g. C major, it shows 2 octaves for RH and 2 octaves for LH.

So do I suppose to play
(A) 2 octaves for RH and 2 octaves for LH
OR
(B) 4 octaves for RH and 4 octaves for LH?

It only shows 2 octaves to save printing the rest and 2 octaves is enough to see the pattern
You play 4 octaves hands together and can be asked for 4 octaves with either right or left.

sbhoa has told you right, besides...2 octaves of minor scales at grade 8 would be way too easy
