I am in an orchestra, I think it is really unfair that the only way to get into the chamber orchestra is with high exams. You see I know this girl who is really good at playing the clarinet but due to her old clarinet teacher breaking her clarinet just before the exam, she has been put off doing them ever since. How can I get her into the chamber orchestra with me? (I'm already in it!)

Talk to your conductor, or membership secretary, and see if you can get an audition for your friend.

If she can impress them with her playing, they might be interested.

Would the person in charge consider an audition?

This system sounds a little unfair, you say that you can only play in a chamber orchestra with a high mark from an exam. Ok maybe there are a lot of excellent players where you are so your teachers have to distinguish between them. Where I live there is a system of auditions where you just play and are accepted othe merit of your playing. I don't think thre is anything you can do unless your friend was to either speak to the teachers that run it or ask her parents to speak to them and see if she could play for them and at least be considered.
