hiya

just a little question about looking for sheet music

i really really really want to find a copy of Einaudi...Monday and Oltrmere...and well pretty much the whole Divenire album for the clarinet....i know its a piano solo but i think it would play beautifully on the Clarinet and would love to find some sheet music, i've had a little look online and not seen it only for piano... funnily lol

the same goes for Vivald's four seasons....one of my favourite pieces particularly i want the "spring" but would love all four for clarinet.

does they exhist? and if so where could i find them?

i am aware they are prob out of my league to play at the moment but i would love to have them to play around with at leisure...

There is an arrangement for clarinet and piano of both Spring and Winter, in the one publication, arranged by Pamela Weston (who was a fine clarinettist and arranger). Published by Fentone Music.

I don't know of any Einaudi clarinet arrangements though, sorry. sad.gif

There's Einaudi's Passaggio in The Emma Johnson Clarinet Collection, however you'd have to buy the whole book.

I know it'd be a mammoth job but if you wanted it badly enough could you buy the piano version and transpose it?

I've done that in the past with the odd piece or two.

You'd have to put everything up a full tone. The way it works on the key signature is that you get 2 extra sharps or 2 less flats. smile.gif clarinet.gif

i thought of that and i would absolutely love it wub.gif it may be a mammoth task but i think i would actually really enjoy doing it...but i just havent a clue how. if i did though that way i could make it exactly how i want but i just dont think i have the knowledge to do it.... ive never done anything like it before...how would i transpose a chord and all the other things pianos can do that a clari cant is it the root of the appegio....

you know its gettin more tempting i love a good mind boggler wacko.gif

The only bit you need to transpose is the bit you're going to play on your clarinet. The rest of the piano part you can leave exactly as it is. So all you'll need to do is pick out the tune, and transpose that. You may want to eliminate those notes from the piano part, but the rest of the piano part you can leave just as it is to form the accompaniment. smile.gif

AND...... If you weren't to be accompanied you could always play it as written...... You would need to transpose one of the parts though if you were to play with the piano though... It'd be good for your theory> smile.gif

that is becomeing a more and more tempting solution....i'm off into mad fantasie land dreaming about transcribing pieces into clarinet duos, quartets......lol i was listenng to the album today at work picking out the bits i want played by each clarinet blush.gif but i think perhaps that is beyond me...but is defo somethign i would love to work on...perhaps i should work on somethins simple like twinkle twinkle first and see how that goes lol

i've never eventried to read piano music...and my stint at guitar when i was at school was distinclty lackluster..is reading music for different instrument pretty much the same or vastly differnt....what about the Bass clef notes...how would they figure on the clarinet arent they out of the range?....or would they work transposed for a bass clarinet? i dont know a thing about it but am seriouslet thinking of giveing it ago...it may take me a year or two while i learn what i'm doing before i can actually do it lol
, and then perhaps another year to learn how to play it biggrin.gif

If it's something not too time consuming, I can always shove things into Sibelius for you Clari-Netty, if you like, to make clarinet/piano arrangements. smile.gif

I'd scan it in with Photoscore, import into Sibelius, transpose the treble clef and job done wink.gif

Actually I could probably do a piece like that for the OP in about 20 mins as I have tonnes of Einaudi's music wink.gif

Sibelius is a computer programme that enables you to write/arrange music, in a nutshell, though it's a lot more than that. I can arrange music on it pretty quickly. smile.gif
