Hey everyone smile.gif
I've got my AS Music Performance Coursework coming up. I've already chosen...
1) Schumann - Vom fremden landern und menschen (doing this for my Grade 5)
2) Martha Mier - Jackson Street Blues (This was on a previous ABRSM Syllabus)
3) ?

My music teacher said something more towards the Classical/Baroque era. I also need it to be possibly an Allegretto/Allegro and lively in character (and also grade 5). She also said around 2 mins...
Can anybody recccomend a piece - preferably Mozart/Haydn/Bach.
Thank you!
Sam

P.S I was going to do one of my other Grade 5 pieces (Haydn - Allegro assai) but she said it's a little on the short side.

Kuhlau - Allegretto Grazioso from Sonatina Op 55 No.3

Not at all difficult and currently on LCM's grade 6 list.

Last movement of Haydn Sonata in D Hob XVII No 37.
Lively Rondo, should be manageable by a Grade 5 pianist

Any of the Clementi Sonatina movements from Op36, some might be regarded as a bit too easy.

Or even Beethoven Sonata Op 49 No 2 , last movement might be a bit too long though.

I've been playing this. The last movement takes about three minutes or thereabouts.
clavicembalo
What about a Gigue from one of Handel's Harpsichord Suites, with repeats? From No.7 in G minor perhaps.

HI!

I don't have any exact reccomendations, however I reccomend doing a piece not in the syllabus. It is better to do something new, that the marker will not have heard over and over again, otherwise you will have a lot of people to be better at.

Thanks

Hope this helps!
