I've just signed up for my A214 Summer School dates since all the advice was that they get very full and there are not always enough places for everyone. I hope I've gone for the right dates: unsure.gif I chose the first week in the end, from 17 July, thinking that the Tutors might be fresh and full of enthusiasm, not that I think they will be dull later, but I hoped the first week might be special! party1.gif

It is right on the end of the school term here so the teachers amongst you will probably want to go later when you have had time to recover a little mellow.gif

It does mean that I must get TMA 06 done well in advance and sent off, but I hoped to manage that anyway and this should give me the push to do so. Anyone else going that week?
Flossie
Why's this in viva piano, sweffling? unsure.gif I've had problems finding it. laugh.gif

I've booked on the 3rd week. smile.gif This seemed to fit around the study schedule quite well and I can't do the last week.

Ah! found you tongue.gif

Could we transfer this onto the Theory forum (or start a new one on there)? The OU'ers will be so busy on the're units/TMA's they may not have time to visit the viva piano forum smile.gif

Great news Flossie, I have booked the 3rd week (31st July) biggrin.gif

Silly me, didn't notice I was on Viva Piano. And now I don't know how to either kill the post and begin again, or how to transfer. Any suggestions? Please!

I think you have to go through one of the mods to get a thread moved. smile.gif Try EdGJ or soprano.

I don't think it matters what week you are going, you will have an excellent time. I actually went the last week and I can tell you now that all the tutors were full of enthusiasm. I think it works that the tutors aren't allowed to do more than 2 weeks on the go, as it is really hard work.

You will find that you will get worn out as there is so much work to be done, but it is a lovely worn out feeling. I wish I was going again this year, I have never known anything quite like it - and they even make your bed!!

Hi All, I've contacted soprano and asked to have this thread moved to Theory and Composition, so here's hoping.

Oh I am SO jealous of you all

This is the last year it runs, isn't it? I am kicking myself for not signing up.

Not sure if there is anyone from the Leicester group going to the 3rd week but thats what I have chosen biggrin.gif Hopefully will have taken my grade 6 Clarinet a few weeks before. I will be taking it up there with me in the hope there will be time to play.

I went in 2008, and was in the third/last week. It toally transformed the course for me- from feeling completely on my own I was suddenly in a group of people who had all had the same problems and queries as I had.
The choir was a fantastic experience and I'd recommend it to anyone who can sing at all. On the last night we had the best pub singalong ever, over a hundred musicians in a bar with pianos and guitars everywhere, you can't really go wrong.
What surprised me the most was the sheer range of people attending- all ages, backgrounds, and abilities, so nobody feels out of place.
