It's apparently not as good as the old one coz the old one was being played permanently in the lower 6th side of the common room today. I asked them which was better (coz i haven't heard the new one) and they were outraged that I hadn't heard it!

I haven't heard either! Apparently its supposed to be better than the original (according to my dad anyway!). I'll probably buy it at some point, even if just for the money going to charity...

I think its good, but I don't think it's as good. Its all about the emotion with it in my opinion, I don't think there is as much emotion in it as there was in the old one.

My impression is that the new one's a much smoother, more professional recording. The original was made under very hectic circumstances with time constraints. I agree that the first one is more emotional, the second more clinical. Which is better is up to the listener, I guess. I prefer the first because I'm old and Bandaid was a big deal to me as a teenager .

I don't think there's that much you can do with it, though, as a song. The original was created to serve a purpose, which the new version continues to serve, but I doubt it will every be anyone's favourite song ever. Mumble, witter.
