Violin
Viola
Pianoforte
Organ
Harpsichord (occasionally - only in chamber groups; I don't have time to do regular practise!)
French horn
Singing (if this counts)
Recorder (garklein, sopranino, descant, treble, tenor, bass... can't manage anything bigger!)... and pennywhistle lol
Flute (badly, occasionally)
Indian flute (badly, occasionally)
Clarinet (badly, occasionally)
Guitar
Bass Guitar
Drums (badly, frequently... mua ha ha haaaa!)
Trumpet (badly, occasionally)
I only put the ones I'm decent at on my signature... I only have lessons on violin piano and singing, and I used to have lessons on the horn before my teacher moved away... most of these, henceforth, are self-taught... or, in the case of flute/clarinet, my friends give me the occasional lesson.

I am like cheeble:
Piano, Violin, Organ, Harpsichord (though not on a regular basis), Cornet, Recorder (all sizes), Japanese koto, Zimbabwean Mbira, Thai Khong wong Yai, Guitar, Flute, Voice (-which is the instrument of human beings), gamelan. Have I forgotten any?
It is just as jasbeth puts it, we just can't get enough. I'd like like to learn more, but first in need the space to store them. Some instrument I obviously don't have at home like the harpsichord, gamelan, organ, and khong wong yai. However, my main instrumnets are Piano, Voice, Organ, and Thai khong wong yai.

Very nice - you're making a great start. And I bet your parents will appreciate it when you're really good.
You know what? Put your main work in on your piano and violin, but anything you try on any instrument is all experience and fun, no?
And good luck with the theory. You'll find that really useful as you move along.
Lovely. All the best for the new year and...enjoy!
take care,

Easy, you either play two or three times as fast so you can get that much more music in.
Or you round your pieces up to the nearest minim which means they need less practice.

It is... but I personally only take lessons on 3 - violin, piano and singing. Most of my instruments are self-taught. I used to have horn lessons but my teacher moved!
And it is possible to balance multiple instruments with schoolwork and the like...

Hello everyone!
I'm new to the forum, so please be nice to me!
People are always laughing at me cos of the number of instruments I play (does anyone else get that?

) so here are the ones I play (or have played in the past lol):
Pianoforte,
Flugelhorn,
Harp,
Alto Flute (and normal flute too obviously - i just specialise in alto!),
Heckelphone (and " oboe " " " " " " heckelphone!),
Piccolo, (if that counts!)
Serpent (have dabbled in),
Contrabassoon (well my friend taught me a few notes!),
Tuba,
Irish whistle,
Organ (when my church needs me to!)
And I sing baritone.
Also theory - if that counts
Thanks everyone!

anyway I play
1. Flute Grade 8Distinction
2. Voice Diploma Distinction
3. Piano Grade 8 Merit
4. Organ
These are my main instruments but I have also had a go at (briefly i must add!)
Clarinet, Violin, Cello, Trumpet, saxophone and french horn, but this is mainly because im at uni at we musicians like to try out new things prior to orchestra!

sorry, just changing subject slightly, but Rob_mcJim ive just noticed that besides playing all those instruments you are doing 6 a-levels, oh my life how on earth do you manage to cope with all that, anyway sorry just being nosy through my interest in how clever you must be because not only 6 a levels but a-level subjects that I would have run a mile from, I bet they are very hard!anyway, good luck with the uni stuff im sure you'll get wherever you want to go with your talent.

Hi everyone!
Thanks for being so nice about my first post, I'm very new to this!
First of all, July, a serpent is an instrument that's a cross between woodwind and brass. It has a brass mouthpiece and then fingering like a woodwind instrument. There's lots of different types, like with recorders, and my favourite is the contrabass cos it's so huge! It's basically an old kind of tuba.
NIX - everyone seems to think that my doing 6 A levels is a pretty big thing, but basically they go fairly well together, and as long as you knuckle down to it, the work gets done! Music's not exactly work anyway
Chin up, cheeble, I can't wait for uni either. Does anyone know where they're applying yet? I've had a few offers but I still haven't decided.
Rob
