How many people have played this piece?
I'm learning it myself, and although i love it, i'm thinking of scrapping it, because it's driving me mad...
I just wanted to know if anyone else had difficulties with this piece?
Garkleine
Can't say that I have heard of this piece. Is it for solo flute?? - in which case I may get hold of it.
I have recently been working on Ibert "Piece for Flute Seule" and Karg-Elert "Sonata Appassionata in F# minor" (which is quite fiendish and rather long !!) smile.gif smile.gif

My flute teacher keeps warning me off it; says it's very difficult. I have a couple of recordings of it, and it sounds very nice; very French. The sheet music is quite pricy, as I recall.

I've heard it played by Emmanuel Pahud and it's a wonderful piece. It's scored for flute and piano. It sounds very difficult to play, though, so good luck.

Well it was my flute teacher who gave me her copy of it and said i should learn it because it's an important piece in the flute repetoire- but i think she may overestimate me sometimes

It's on the Performance LRSM list, and is definitely one of the more difficult options. This may help to put in context with other pieces you are playing; your teacher may be trying to stretch you deliberately.

I know she is deliberately trying to stretch me, and that makes me feel even more guilty for not being able to do it, because i feel as if im disappointing her by not being good enough to play it- and i know i'm not going to get anywhere with that attitude...

Dont worry about disapointing your teacher, out the piece away and come back to it after a few months and surprise yourself with how much you will be able to play! biggrin.gif
