We had a last-minute call for someone to go and introduce the Kodaly approach to trainee teachers (some music specialists, some generalists) at London Southbank University today.

So as it's my day off...guess what I'm doing...

Today I'm working at home all day. (Apart from going out in the rain for the dog walk).


So I can't decide whether to Log Off and go and get on with it all.... or go back to bed and read my kindle for an hour or so ....

finalise a walk for the weekend, watch Turn Back Time and then off to bed for me *yawns*

Have had a few VERY full-on days which have worn me out physically and emotionally. I didn't get up until 11.45am today...and have basically just blobbed on the sofa all day - wasn't able to move.

No more days off now until 21st July.

I have to drive to oour offices in the Coventry area and back today. That's 2 hours driv ing each way. I have noticed that it seems a tad . This won't be fun...

Hang on in there Cyrilla - it isn't all that long to the 21st. I'm very tired too but my end of term this year has wound down nice and gently so I am, for once, lucky.

Going to have a last play through accompaniments for my student's exam tomorrow before I go out to orchestra rehearsal.

not a lot, should be camping this weekend but the campsite is on flood alert so we haven't been able to go, will probably read, I have a few back issues of Country Walking to look at , then have an early night

Thanks Aquarelle. It just seems a VERY long way away just now. Every day until 20th is full-on and I am so tired at the end of the year. Bits have been quite emotional, too, which is always draining.

I blame my clarinet student who had his exam today with me accompanying. He'd been wondering what happens if The accompanist drops dead on the day of the exam (not during the exam...).

Dry my hair, get things together and then head off to the Kodaly Choir - all SSA stuff today, YAY!

We never have very many of either but most of the usual ones couldn't make it today so it was decided to just make it a ladies' session. One bass actually did turn up, just to show support and solidarity - and said he had a fantastic afternoon and learned so much!

Common theme - I need as I didn't sleep well on Sunday. Chaos in work today. Need to get on with the housework as I will be putting up people from the visiting choir from France starting Thursday. That'll test my French out Still menu planning...

I am very boringly going to lug all the winter bedding up to the automatic large drum laundry machines outside the local supermarket and hope no one got there before me! Then I am going to lug enormous quantities of rubbish to the local dechetterie (can't remember what you call it in English). And looking at the amount of rubbish I rather think I will be doing this after I log off on the next few occasions!

Ah, thank you maggie! I should have known you would know! Actually I think our decheterie lady would be very cross if I called her beautifully tidy recycling arrangement a tip. She pounces on us the minute we arrive, opens the boot and and sorts everything with great gusto. She fires questions at us "Is there still a battery in that?" "Are you sure there's no asbestos?" etc. and she instructs us with military precision which containers we should use. If the survival of the planet were left to her the Earth would outlive the sun!
