A few little things in remembrance of my Grandpa, who died 9 years ago today (at about this time, actually). Going to scatter some flower petals into the wind and light a candle and let it burn until the wick has gone... RIP Grandpa.

that's pretty cool as games go, I had an awful feeling you'd say Halo or Call Of Duty or something equally odd that my brother loves!

Nah, I like something a bit different where you have to use a bit of grey matter

This is fun because you can do things several different ways, plus I like the stealth element. Wow I sound like a right saddo, but this is the first game I've played in months!

I love the interaction with the customers, and here i'm given a chance to learn... i help with the cellar cleans and things like that now

At my old job i wasn't given that chance, and i was told i couldnt have two jobs either... so now i work in the new one and i love it! I don't mind the hours either

I am going to bed where I shall read the next chapter of "Twilight". I have been terribly out of date on this series but was kicked into gear when a pupil said she and her friend had chosen to do a project on Debussy because of the use of Clair de Lune in the film. Needless to say I spent most of Thursday morning finding them sources they could use. I get softer!! But I did owe this pupil something as she had recommended me to the mother of a delighful little six year old boy who is starting piano with me next week. Worth a bit of help with Debussy, I thought!

I am going to the opthalmologist. I have calculated that the length from my eyes to the music on the piano is 65 cm. I am wondering if I should take a piece of music with me to show him what I mean. If he can make me a prescription for glasses that will bring music back into focus I shall be off to the "What made you happy today thread" like a shot. I am rather tired of looking at the fog and maling a guess at what the composer might have written!

I got glasses earlier this year and my teacher's response when I passed comment that at least I could read the music now regardless of whether I could play it or not?? You played remarkably well for a blind person!!!

Yes, please take the music and the distance.
I was surprised that one optician I went to was particularly dumb about the need for special music playing glasses, but I have found a better optician who understood very well. I now have special music reading glasses as well as my varifocals which are used for distance and "normal" reading.

Yes, I did - thanks for your encouragement - and he was quite understanding but the solution of two pairs of glasses isn't very helpful. for me as i am not very patient with that sort of thing. I have moaned about it in the Surgery thread in case anyone has any other ideas.
And when I log off I am going to panic! I have done no preparation for my nursery music class tomorrow and have five new ones starting. Better go and get on with it!
