Just thought this might be an interesting exercise.

Me - I'm still undecided but will vote before polls close tonight.

P.S. I've only detailed the three biggest parties in England as I don't fully understand the Scottish and Welsh ones. (No offence to anyone who will be voting these.)
Solari
Hum, shame there's no way to correlate between the two. The polls on here are a bit limited smile.gif

All I am prepared to say on open forum is that I have voted - and I hope the present administration does not get back. Nothing else is anyone's business! sorry.

That's fine. I thought the votes in the poll would be anonymous - If I'm wrong then please just disregard the poll and let it fall out the bottom of the list smile.gif

I certainly did not mean anyone to post details in addition to the poll. And there do seem to be opinion polls all around us at present.

I really hate it when they catch you outside the polling station Grrrr. I never let on.!

Not sure why they bother - what's done is done! smile.gif

The votes *are* anonymous as far as anyone reading the board is concerned (with the possible exception of administrators).

Thanks for the confirmation. smile.gif

I'm impressed by the response to "Why are you voting like this?". We are clearly a level headed, sensible bunch here irrespective of the party we vote for.

Then again where was the answer "'cos my dad did"?

The option I was looking for was 'because red/yellow/blue is my favourite colour' laugh.gif

Ha ha !! Was trying to keep it vaguely sensible tongue.gif laugh.gif

But I did mis "not decided yet" out of bottom poll option. I can't add it now so it'll have to stay as it is. smile.gif

Umm. Not sure what happened. I didn't mean to post anything blink.gif

For the first time ever I voted today against any of my families beliefs. I then saw an Aunt and Uncle outside and felt certain I had 'traitor' emblazoned on my forehead ohmy.gif laugh.gif

That's it then. The Doom Bar party (see elsewhere on the forum) will use those colours on its rosette. biggrin.gif

So far, according to the BBC seat calculator, if the nation votes with our poll (well it's just as scientific as anyone elses), we get

Party Seats
Conservative 0
Labour 9
Lib Dem 618
Other 23

As Harry Hill would say "What are the chances of that happening eh?"

I want to put 3 options for the 2nd question. unsure.gif I'll have to have a think and come back to this later. I know who I'm voting for though anyways. ph34r.gif

Just go with the majority for question 2 tongue.gif

For the first time ever since I turned 18 I will not be voting as I was accidentally removed from the electoral roll and only found out when it was too late to do anything about it. mad.gif

I now know not to believe the location stated on your members profile. laugh.gif

I'm not surprised you angry. mellow.gif I would be seriously miffed as well, especially as our seat has been very heavily targeted by a party and candidate I don't want.
anacrusis
Having had a quick look at a calculator thingy which gives me the actual value of my vote - my vote counts for 1.013 of a vote in fact, because mine is a marginal area, so my choice effectively counts for more than if I were living in a so-called "stronghold" for one of the parties. woot.gif . Makes me feel more that it is worth my while doing so.

I wonder why it is considered such a political hot potato to declare one's allegiance? Thankfully we are supposed to be living in a democracy, though I think there is room for increasing fairness of representation .... wink.gif.

Well, I am where I am on my profile! I have always voted from abroad with a proxy vote (you can vote from abroad until you have been abroad for over 15 years) and seeing as I can't vote here yet I still want to vote somewhere! tongue.gif

blink.gif But how can you vote if you're not in a constituency? huh.gif
Tortellini
You can stay on the electoral roll in the last constituency you were in. Actually I have been resident in the UK quite recently as I came back to study but I am pretty sure that the rule is 15 years.

That was me exactly this morning but decisions now made and votes cast. I checked up on some policies on the vote for policies site and overall I came out with only 1 of the big 3 (majority of questions) and 3 minority parties - 1 question each. This also fell in with my gut instinct of what was right - Though whether this vote makes a difference or whether I'd have done more good tactically voting I don't know.

Is it just me or does everyone come out of the polling station having carefully placed their X and checked the box it was placed in against candidate and party and then think ohmy.gif "I did put that in the right box didn't I??" ohmy.gif
I always worry I've voted for some dreadful bigotted party instead!! ohmy.gif

Yeah - The polls are limited on here. I wanted to do a tick all that apply but couldn't. smile.gif

Transparent, me? biggrin.gif

To be honest, having seen this sort of thing many times in previous elections, I was fully expecting the LibDem vote to collapse when it actually came to putting a cross in the box.
