I think I'm just about ready to enter my first batch of candidates for copper/bronze Music Medals! (Or, rather, my pupils are about ready to do the assessments!)

The problem is that I've got to buy my own recording equipment as the school doesn't have any (and has no funding for any). I can only afford to get a very cheap camcorder. As long as I get one with sound(!), do you think it'll be OK for the purposes of filming the assessments?

Also, how are people getting on with Music Medals? I am teaching groups of about 14 at a time, so it's taking longer than I would like to get them to the standards needed...!

Sorry, I know nothing about music medals but my ordinary digital (still) camera takes a pretty good video. I've no idea if the quality would be good enough but I would have thought it might be. Even if you don't have one someone might lend you one. Mine's a couple of years old so you could get something similar on ebay for just a few pounds I should think.

Good luck.

Probably best to check with the exam board about video quality.

Afraid I too know nothign about the music medals! Sorry!
