Crumbs, it would almost be quicker to say which lines are running. And those are only the planned engineering works, I assume.

There are other works, but those are the ones likely to directly affect travel to the event.

I shall keep my fingers crossed that the Northern City branch is running properly...

There are lots of Northern line works coming up, but I think this coming weekend is ok. The LU really has gone beyond a joke at the moment - you just can't rely on being able to travel anywhere at the weekend these days.

Probably a silly question, but still one that I am going to ask! Do I need to bring a music stand with me to use when I'm 'cello-ing, or not? I'd rather not have to bring one as they add bulk to a bag, but thought I should ask in case I can get away without bringing one...

I'm pretty sure there are stands there. So don't worry about bringing another one

So we have music stands...I'm not too sure about the mirrors though!

I know it's London and so this is a silly question, but I assume there is somewhere nearby I can grab some lunch? Which I can scoff outside at 11.55am if we're not allowed to eat inside But I'll not be very good in mood if I don't have a reasonable lunch

If you get off the tube at Russell sq, there is a tesco metro and other small shops on the way.

Like you, Maizie, I need my food and was planning to bring lunch with me, and will just about make it by 12 as I have an appointment in the morning. In the time that we are there I would normally scoff lunch and afternoon tea/snack.

The Museum Tavern in Great Russell Street serves Doom Bar (should that be a requirement).

But I am quite excited about the idea of using a hire bike to get myself from Liverpool Street to the venue They better not be out of bikes when I get to the stand (I know, they're not far apart so I can find another one easily enough if need be!)

I'll probably end up playing something not quite so Baroque, although I'm putting some last-minute effort into learning something easy-ish... Life is a bit too mad at the moment!

The trouble is, you are so right! I used to be able to touch type at around 70 words a minute, with pretty good accuracy. Now it is probably half that with half the accuracy!

That's given me an idea for a new type of Forum event. We all gather together in one carriage on a certain date and time, and play for fun - if we get any money it can go towards our train fares .

It is when we are all saying "This piano doesn't play as well as it used to" that we ought to become worried
