Full Version: An Opportunity To Perform In Public!

If you live near the city of Bath, or happen to be visiting, you may like to know that there is currently a project whereby pianos have been deposited in public places for anyone to play. Details can be found in this local newspaper article.

I played some Bach on the bus station piano last Saturday night. My audience was a local tramp (who politely applauded), and a group of young ladies on a night out (one of whom was sick on the pavement - was it that bad?). unsure.gif You may find more discerning audiences at other locations/times of day smile.gif .

But the pianos are/were totally clapped out =( I tried a few notes on one. maybe it would have been good for honky tonk stuff?

my other half also tried to play one and he said that no matter what he tried, he just couldn't- but that was near midnight after quite a few pints, so I don't think it was the piano's fault.

it would be good if they did this in aberdeen. piano.gif but the weather may not make it feasable. tongue.gif

I saw one of them last summer on a school trip! There was three pianists in the class, so there was quite a battle in the lunch hour rofl.gif

I had a go of the one in Leadenhall Market and the one around the corner at St. Paul's! laugh.gif The one in Leadenhall Market had a load of keys broken, and it took me ages to find something I could play that didn't use those notes!

rofl.gif I bet that was good fun-also I bet it was a rather interesting opportunity to review what's in your repertoire! laugh.gif
