What are some good jazz reeds for Clarinet / Alto Sax?? I tend to use Ricos for everything, I really must start to expand...

Cheers,

Oddball.

I really think Rico Royals are good all rounders, they are like Dr Martin Boots (The Cherry Red Ones!) after a good six months wearing in but without the wearing in period. laugh.gif Any way for a change you might want to try vandoren classics or if you have the spare cash a legerre reed however at approx £15 a reed make sure you pick the right one.

OMG yuck i remember them, i even used to wear them, CRINGE how embarassing, why have i admitted to that! unsure.gif

Actually i still wear mine, biggrin.gif however i find that by using black shoe polish on them you can get a lovely antique maroon colour in a very short period. Hmmm better turn a musical slant on this otherwise Christine might delete the thread...........its a bit like that crazy grade 8 piece that has you pulling your hair out (thats if you got hair), most of the time its just a question of perspective are those demisemiquavers really so or are they just quavers played fast. Every little bit helps(Tesco)
